The best perfumes for men

On this page you will find our perfumes for men. Perfumes are not just for parties, nor necessarily just something you put on once a day. The 'history' of perfume

Although for many men perfume sounds a little... let's say cottony. Then the word originates from the Latin "per fumum" which directly translated means "through smoke". If the word fumum sounds familiar, it may be because it has been adopted into both French (fumée) and English (fume). Here the word also means smoke or steam, which brings to mind smoky men's rooms, where men with cigars and mustaches gamble for the entire family fortune. The word therefore does not immediately have any links to fragrant flower meadows.

If we have to finish the history lesson, then the Egyptians - and especially the Egyptian pharaohs - were known for their perfumes, which at the time were rather fragrant salves than actual men's perfumes. Nevertheless, perfumes have been found in, among other things, Tutankhamun's tomb and have thus been able to determine both content and use fairly accurately.

A good perfume that suits just you!

It is not an easy matter to find a new favorite perfume. It is often said that taste and pleasure are different. It's fragrance and pleasure too. Very different indeed! It can really be a jungle to find a good perfume that suits your style and temperament.

Men's perfumes and scents for men do not have to be a semi-fancy pleasure. Men are not supposed to smell like flower meadow or lavender. Men need to smell masculine without it being too overpowering!

Why we buy perfumes online

It may seem strange that we increasingly buy perfumes online, especially when their success depends 100% on the scent. But fundamentally, there has been a shift in the way we act. Firstly, we test more in the physical stores and then go online and buy AND secondly, exchanging goods and shipments has become much easier than it used to be.

These two trends mean that there is not the same "risk" associated with buying perfume online as there has been in the past. Partly there is a good chance that you are already familiar with the scent and partly it is easy to change the perfume if it is not to your liking.

Buying perfume online is like buying wine

As I said, we often go online and buy products that we have prior knowledge of from the "real world", more and more often we rush into purchases based solely on feeling and spontaneous decisions.

If we look at the market for wine, for example, business with Danish wine retailers online has never been better than now. AND this is despite the fact that they neither offer tastings nor anything else that can give you an idea of the matter before you buy online. But why do we buy wine online?

One reason may be that we have prior knowledge of either the producer, the grape type or the given retailer and are therefore confident in the recommendation/description we receive of the product, another reason may be that we do not feel the investment is that great. Okay, so you bought a bottle of wine that tasted a bit like cork and cardboard - so what? - It cost DKK 100 and it was actually a very pleasant evening anyway. A third reason for our relaxed relationship with online trading of both wine and perfume could be that we believe more of what we read about products than before. Or rather, we may find it easier to imagine what scent/taste this particular product has based on the description.
