Is it normal that there is a notch in the thread of my Henson Razor?
The short answer is: YES.

This is completely normal. Henson Razors are manufactured with very high precision and with an extremely low tolerance.
The low tolerance means that the parts fit very tightly together, so to avoid the slightest bit of dirt or impurity on the threads of the top plate or the handle preventing the two parts from connecting properly, the small notch in the threaded screw on the top plate was simply chosen as part of the design.
Here's what Henson himself writes about just that:
"The threads on the AL13 and Ti22 are so tight and precise that grit or dirt getting lodged in them could hinder the proper operation. To solve this, we engineered a groove that will catch any debris and give it a place to go that does not get in the way of the threads. Once the razor is taken apart, this channel can be wiped clean."
